They'll Know We Are Christians By Our Love
Yes, that "They'll Know We Are Christians". The Other Ed used it as a way to talk about the differences in age and cultural experiences--there were a couple Hope College girls singing with us. The Other suggested to me that the pastors each needed their own theme songs, to be played as 'a little travelin' music' whenever they walk up front. Today we tried out the old Booker T. hit "Green Onions" as Greg's theme, but it's all a work in progress. Here's a little Green Onions for your Sunday afternoon enjoyment:

"Green Onions".....LOLLOLOLOL...We used to do theme songs for our youth pastor when they would get up to do announcements. One time we played "Rock You Like a Hurricane" The Scorpions. The church basically erupted in hilarity. Good thing it was at the end of the service.
What are the names of the band members for extra credit? O-kay Booker T Jones is a gimme. (organ) Blues Brothers fans should should get two of them. The drummer is........
We did Trading My Sorrows this morning, too. Is that DCB's Remedy? We introduced that this morning.
Yes . From the cd of the same name. (Remedy) Just saw The David Crowder Band in Grand Rapids at Sunshine Community Church. They open up with Matt Redman's Undignified. Anybody done the youth ministry 20 minute version?
he's rocking that 4 note bass line. look at his hair move. haha
Did you do "they'll know we are Christians" in a new arr? or just stick with the good ole style? Did you have an Bubble machines going?
I tried to talk The Other Ed into also doing 'Pass It On', and then for old times sake, have the elders kick us out of the church. Nobody wants to have fun any more...And you know the worst of it? We didn't have a drummer! So here we are doing the old controversial stuff, and no drummer to give us that wild, wild feeling. Larry Norman would not have been proud. Pardon me while I channel Larry:
I see the flash of guns
How red the mud becomes
I've got a close up viewwwww
I'm the six o'clock news...
Okay Ed, since no one else will bite:
Alan Jackson on drums
Steve Cropper on guitar
And...Duck Dunn on bass?
Memphis' version of the Funk Brothers. These guys are on all the records. Sam and Dave, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Eddie Floyd, and many more. Al Jackson is also the drummer on all the early Al Green records with Willie Mitchell.
